Marilyn Jean Ramberg died Sunday, February 6, 2011 at The Villages of North Branch, at age 82.
The second of four daughters, Marilyn was born on September 22, 1928 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Thomas and Lovina Halverson.
Marilyn graduated from Roosevelt High School in south Minneapolis in 1947 and held various jobs after graduation. On August 6, 1949, she married Donald Ramberg at her parent's home. To this union 3 children were born: Marsha, Julie, and Donald, Jr.
In 1954, Marilyn and Don purchased a farm west of Harris, where together they raised their children and enjoyed their grandchildren. After her husband's death in 1996, Marilyn stayed on the farm until 2004 when she moved to a townhouse in Rush City.
In August of 2010, Marilyn suffered a pelvic fracture which necessitated a move to The Villages of North Branch.
Marilyn's greatest joys were her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her cat, Ashley. In her earlier years, she loved to cook and bake. It made her so happy when someone would stop over and she could serve them coffee and goodies. In later years, she enjoyed eating out as often as possible.
She faithfully attended Harris Covenant Church for many years. She loved the Lord, her church, and her church family.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Marsha Carlson and her husband, Roger, of Kearney, Nebraska; her daughter, Julie Oberg and her husband, Barry, of Harris; her son Donald and his wife Carol of Pine City, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Arlene Halverson, Janet Holland, and Patricia Navratil, as well as many other family members, neighbors, and friends.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Lovina Halverson and her husband Donald Ramberg Sr.
Pastors Neil Bonkoski and Chris Kelly will officiate at funeral services for Marilyn Ramberg (Mrs. Donald Ramberg Sr.);
11 a.m. Friday (2/11/11) at the Harris Covenant Church of Harris.
A time of visitation and reviewal is scheduled for one hour prior to the funeral at the church and Thursday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the Olson Chapel in Rush City.
The interment will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Harris.
