Robert “Bob” Francis Deneen of Pine City passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 7, 2011.
Bob was born August 4, 1937, in Stillwater, Minnesota to Rosella Annabelle (Hansen) and Robert Francis Deneen. Bob grew up in the St. Paul Park area and went on to graduate from Park High School in 1956. Bob worked for and retired from School District # 833.
Bob lived in Newport until 1993 when he moved to Isle. He was a creative man and he loved nature. If he wasn’t planting his flowers, he was making food or building bird houses and wooden figures in his garage. He also loved to travel with his wife Jan and his dog, Bill. They spent their winters at their home in Arizona.
Bob was loved by everybody who knew him. His bright and charming smile is one thing that will stick with us forever.
Bob is survived by his wife Jan of Pine City; daughters: Kelly Deneen (Dano Kurry) of Isle, Jo (Bob) Ritter of Ham Lake, Shirley (Richard) Howell of Centralia, Missouri; sons: Richard Deneen of Apple Valley, Robert (Julie) Deneen of St. Paul, John Deneen of Isle; grandchildren: Anissa, Philip, Hunter, Charlie, Jack, Allie, Amanda Marie, Amanda Sue, Ron, Tara, Jason, Jaime, Andy, Jim, several great grandchildren; step-children: Cindy (Dan) Jeska of Eagan, Roland (Jackie) Haglund of Newport, Sara Moore of Port Orange, Florida; step-grandchildren: Nikki, Jeff, Evan, and Katherine; brothers: Phillip (Lois) Deneen of Rosemount, Mike (Joyce) Deneen of Vadnais Heights, Dave (Barbara) Deneen of Vadnais Heights; sisters: Linda (Dennis) Valiant of Cottage Grove, Sandie (Dennis) Plan of Cottage Grove, Betty Marty of Arden Hills, Judy Elton of South St. Paul, Alice (Don) Zeigler of Star Prairie, Wisconsin, Eileen Newman of Inver Grove Heights; and sister-in-law Ruth Deneen of South St. Paul.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Rosella Deneen; his first wife Mary Lee; brothers: Ralph, John “Ray” and James “Jimmy” Deneen; sisters: Helen Marty, Mary Ann Schussler, and Irene Pankonin.
Bob was loved by all.
Reverend Anthony Oltmann will officiate funeral services at Wahkon Presbyterian in Wahkon, Minnesota on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral at 12:30 p.m. Inurnment will be in the Holden Lutheran Cemetery in Isle, Minnesota.
