Eric Belden Laun

Eric Laun was born June 8, 1964 in Mora Minnesota to Mary (Sievert) & Edward Laun. He died unexpectedly Saturday November 26, 2011 at his home in Pine City, MN at the age of 47 years. Eric Laun attended schools in Sandstone, Blaine and graduated from Forest Lake High School in 1982. After high school, Eric enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country for five years. Most of that time was spent on the U.S.S. Baltimore submarine. After returning home, Eric received an Associate Arts degree in Soil Science from Anoka-Ramsey Community College. Most recently, Eric worked as a printer for a large print shop in the Metro and a printing company in Wisconsin. Eric loved to hunt, fish and was an avid rock collector; always looking for agates. Eric is survived by his mother Mary Williams of Pine City, MN; father Edward (Linda) Laun of Spring Lake Park, MN; brothers Jerome (Toni) Laun, Roger Williams all of Pine City, MN; sisters Natalie Laun of Moose Lake, MN, Andrea (Jeff) Kelner of Blaine, MN, Michelle Zach of Coon Rapids, MN, Bobby Zach of Brooklyn Park, MN, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Eric is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts Esther Carl, Esther Harth; uncles John, Elden and Donald Sievert. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Eric Laun is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Thursday (12/1/11) with a time of visitation one hour prior at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City. The interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
