Doris Pauline Johnson

Doris Johnson passed away Tuesday, December 13th at Ecumen Parmly Lifepointes Nursing Home in Chisago City at the age of 74. Doris was born December 21, 1936, the daughter of Emmett and Eleanor Gravdal of Sisseton, South Dakota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church in Rush City for many years. She was a member of Rush City Women’s Club, the Garden Club, and a Willow Grove 4-H leader. She attended school and graduated from Sisseton High School in 1954. She attended Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. She then moved to Rush City to teach school. In 1957, Doris was united in marriage to Willard E. Johnson of Rush City. They had three children. Doris is survived by her daughters: Barb (Charles) Duffeck of Neenah, WI, Joanne Mooers of Palmdale, CA; grandchildren: Jason (Amber) Johnson of Center City, MN, Meredith Mooers, Robert Mooers both of Palmdale, CA, Craig Duffeck, Nina Duffeck both of Neenah, WI; great grand daughter Chloe Johnson, sister Pam (Gary) Richardt of Sauk Rapids, MN. She is preceded in death by her parents Emmett & Eleanor Gravdal, husband Willard E. Johnson, son Dean Johnson, brother James Gravdal, sister Caryn Curran and an infant sister. Reverend Laurie O’Shea will officiate services; 11 a.m. Tuesday (12/20/2011) at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rush City, MN. A time of visitation and reviewal will be held one hour prior to the service at the church and Monday evening from 4-7 p.m. at the Olson Chapel. The interment will be in First Lutheran Cemetery in Rush City. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the family.
