Lydia Adeline Anderson, the daughter of John and Theresa (Haberman) Pavek, was born May 18, 1913 on the family farm located east of Beroun, Minnesota. She grew up there and attended rural District No. 25 School through the 8th grade.
On April 24, 1935, Lydia was united in marriage to Otto Walter Anderson at Princeton, Minnesota. Family and friends knew him as Walter, and he and Lydia made their home on their farm near Beroun. They farmed together, raised their own family and provided foster care for many children as well as several adults. Walter passed away in 1981.
Lydia loved gardening and canning the produce, berry picking, taking care of the farm animals, feeding the birds, and had a special place in her heart for her dog, Tobby. She loved the Lord, and her church, as well as her church family, which were all very important to her. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and any time spent with her family was very special.
Lydia passed away at her home near Beroun on December 17, 2011, having reached the age of 98 years. She is survived by her children: Darlene Anderson of Pine City, MN, Robert (Luverne) Anderson of Sartell, MN, and Kathleen Pedersen of Fergus Falls, MN; daughter-in-law: Beverly Anderson of Cheyenne, WY; nine grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Theresa Pavek, her husband, Otto Walter Anderson, son LeRoy Anderson, son-in-law Fred Pedersen, seven sisters and two brothers.
The Reverend Bruce Thompson will officiate at funeral services at 3 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at Hustletown Community Church in rural Pine City. Visitation is one hour prior to the service at the church. Music will be provided by Lori Thompson and Gene and Karen Carlson. Casket bearers are Robert Anderson, Jr., Kevin Kuiep, Perry Aasness, Dustin Christopherson, Terry Stemper, and Jarad Reiser. Interment is at the Union Cemetery in Hustletown.
