Roberta “Birdie” Trail of Rush Oaks Apts. in Rush City died Wednesday, December 28th at her home at the age of 68. Roberta was born to Irene (Brazil) and George Warren in Minneapolis, Minnesota on June 16, 1943. She attended Central High School in Minneapolis and moved to Portland, Oregon in 1962. She worked at various jobs in Portland until moving to Lewiston, Idaho in 1976. In 1995, Roberta "Birdie" moved back to Minnesota. She lived with her daughter in Rush City and for the last 5 years at the Rush Oaks Apartments. Her various occupations included working as a machinist, telephone operator for Pacific Northwestern Bell, a bullet maker in a munitions plant in Idaho and a gas station attendant for Citgo/Clark gas in Rush City. Birdie loved her soap operas, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and baking. More than these things, Birdie loved her grand kids and great grandson. Birdie Trail is survived by her children: Carrie (Gerard) Abamonte of Frankfort, Germany, Mark (Joelle) Olson of Crystal, Minnesota, Anita Lydon of Braham, Minnesota; grandchildren: Amanda (Mike) Torres, Jacob Strike, Max Mazur, Matthew Olson; great grandchild Felipe Torres, brother Raymond Warren, sisters: Shirley Champagne, Donna Owatta, Carol King, Diane Hausknecht; sister-in-law Jean Warren. Birdie is preceded in death by her parents George & Irene Warren, brothers: George Warren Jr., and Richard Carmichael A time of remembrance and visitation is planned on Monday, January 2, 2012 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Rush Oaks Apartments community room.
