Ronald Duane Duede of Pine City, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Bayshore Health Care Facility in Duluth, Minnesota at the age of 77 years.
Ronald was born on December 17, 1934. Early in life, he lived with his parents in Minneapolis, where his father owned a local service station. Eventually, they moved to the Hampton/Farmington, MN area. Ronald and Phyllis and their parents each had farms in the area and they also operated a garbage hauling business that went all the way to the cities.
Ronald and Phyllis married in 1966 and Kristi was born in 1968. My sister, Nancy is from my mom’s first marriage (she was widowed when Nancy was very young) but my dad has been in the role of Nancy’s father since she was about 7 years old.
Ronald was raised in a god-fearing home and he went to church regularly with my mom and the children, but it wasn’t until the early 1970s at an old-fashioned tent revival that had come to town that he really “met” Jesus and together with my mom began the adventure of a lifetime! Little did they know what God had in store for them in the years to come.
Ron and Phyllis went into the ministry in the mid-late 1970s. While there were many wonderful experiences and opportunities to travel across the United States to minister, their hearts fell in love with the wonderful people in both the northern MN reserves and Canadian Cree reserves.
Ron enjoyed fishing, LOVED telling jokes, and was a bit of a prankster. He had a huge heart, and would give the shirt off his own back to meet the needs of someone else. He and my mom celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in August of 2011. He loved her dearly and enjoyed holding her hand throughout their marriage and travels. He was a constant encourager and loved to sing to the grandbabies.
Ron Duede is survived by his wife Phyllis, daughters Kristi Stebbing and her husband Chris all of Pine City, Nancy Meyer of Milaca, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pastor Tim Adams officiated the memorial service for Ron Duede which was held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 18, 2012 at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City. Interment was in the Milburne Cemetery of Pine City.
Funeral arrangements for Mr. Ronald Duede were entrusted to the Funeral and Cremation Service of Pine City ~ Swanson Chapel.
