Bernice Catherine Drevecky

Mrs. Bernice Drevecky; of Pine City; died Sunday (6/10/12) at the Golden Living Center in Rush City at the age of 83 years. Bernice Catherine (Haug) Drevecky was born on November 5, 1928 to Peter and Florence (Sperling) Haug. She grew up in rural Pine City on a farm, and was part of the Haug family country band. At the age of 16 she moved into the Pine City Hospital dormitory and worked in nursing. Bernice and Edward Drevecky married on June 13, 1946 and together they raised their three children Terry, Wanda and Craig. She enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, listening to music and her family. Bernice is survived by her children: Terry Drevecky and wife Jeanne of Grand Canyon, Arizona, Wanda Johnson of Pine City, Craig Drevecky and wife Alexandra of Roseville; grandchildren: David Drevecky, Caroline Orth, Clay (Kristie) Drevecky, Katie (Gary) Soule; great grandchildren: Terry, Morgan, Emma, Shelby, Noelle, Brittany, Nicole, Jess; sister Rosemarie Hewson and her husband Ron of Rush City; brother John Haug and his wife Margaret of St. Cloud. She is preceded in death by her parents Peter and Florence Haug, husband Edward Drevecky, sister Harriet Nelson, brothers: Willard, Robert and Harold. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 14th from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Swanson Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 21st at 2:00 PM at the Swanson Funeral Chapel with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery of Pine City. Memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association.
