Mr. Harvey Daleen, of Pine City and life-long member of the International Union of bricklayers; died Thursday (7/5/12) at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 75 years.
Harvey Daleen was born in Chicago, Illinois September 7, 1936 to Harvey and Lorraine Daleen. His family moved to Minnesota when Harvey was 14 years old.
In 1957, Harvey was married to Betty Jensen of Ogilvie, in Mora, MN and the couple moved to Minneapolis where Harvey started his career in the construction trades. In the early 1970's Harvey and Betty moved to Pine City and for the next 24 years Harvey commuted to the Twin Cities to work. Harvey was involved in block laying, brick laying and stone masonry. He retired in 1995, having achieved the distinction of a Master Mason.
Harvey loved fishing, hunting, trapping and gardening.
Harvey is preceded in death by his parents and son Terry Daleen.
He is survived by his wife Betty, sons John Daleen of Illinois, Michael Daleen of Pine City, grandchildren Miranda, Charlotte and Andrew and 13 great grandchildren.
A family graveside service is planned at the Oakwood cemetery in Mora, MN.
