Ronald James Cox

February 12, 1958 — July 31, 2012

Ronald J. Cox, age 54, of Pine City died Tuesday July 31, 2012. He was born on February 12, 1958 to Kenneth W. & Johanna Cox, along with his identical twin brother “Bobby”. He graduated elementary school from St. Mary's Catholic School & then Pine City High School in 1976. He was united in marriage to Annette M. Peterson on August 28, 1982. They would have celebrated their 30th Anniversary this month. They had two daughters: Niki, & Bre. He was a very hard worker, and took pride in all his jobs. He worked at the Red Shed in Pine City as a cook; Construction; Land O'Lakes in Pine City & Dalbo; Bermo Inc. in Mounds View & Lino Lakes. At Bermo, Inc. he loved his job & co-workers, and worked many hours with pride. Ronnie was very well liked, and respected throughout the surrounding towns. He was a very humble, and caring man. Ronnie was thrilled to talk about, and drive in all the local demolition derbies. He was always willing to give his competitors a helping hand, and helpful advice. He had driven in demolition derbies since he was 16 years old. He enjoyed working on anyone's derby car, not only his own. To watch him drive, you would see him with a grin from ear to ear, and it never changed, no matter how hard the hit was made on him, or the other car. Ronnie enjoyed snowmobiling and just a “short ride” would always be 100 plus miles each day. He loved spending time with his family, and friends at any occasion's gathering. Ronnie liked going to car shows, and admired all classic cars. As his lung disease “Sarcoidosis” worsened he decided to try gardening to keep himself busy, which he also took pride in. He cherished his wife and daughters, loved his family, and friends. He had a way of making everyone feel like family. He always had a smile on his face, and had a great sense of humor. Ron is survived by his wife Annette of Pine City; children: Niki and Bre; granddaughter Madison Christenson; Siblings: Terri Davis of Plymouth, Millie Cox of Beaverton, Oregon, Tom Cox and his wife Loretta of Huber Heights, Ohio, Carol DeMarre of Grantsburg, Wisconsin, Mary Icenogle and her husband Gregg of Warren Oregon, Bob Cox and his wife Julie of Grasston, Ken Cox of Pine City; father-in-law/mother-in-law: Iver and Lori Peterson of Pine City, sister-in-law Kim Nowling and her husband Scott of Pine City; God-daughters Jessica Carlson of Isanti and Kara Nowling of Pine City; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and friends.
