Lawrence Wilbert Lange died August 16, 2012 at the St. Cloud VA home.
He was born on February 24, 1930 in Kroschel, MN to William & Alma
(Koep) Lange.
At age 15, Lawrence worked with his dad at several jobs in the Twin Cities. He enjoyed working with his dad everyday.
Lawrence joined the U.S. Army when he was 19 and was sent to serve in the Korean conflict. He married Mary Lou Paggen on August 29, 1953. They had 5 children and lived on their farm near Pine City for several years.
Lawrence was a truck driver most of his life. He worked for Hyman Freight and Fingerhut. He drove over two million miles accident free and was a proud member of the Teamsters Union. He was a hard worker and always provided for his family. He retired from trucking in the late 1990’s.
Lawrence enjoyed going to auctions and collecting any and everything. He loved animals, his garden, playing cribbage, driving truck and spending time with his family. He loved the Lord and was such an inspiration to many people. He attended Journey North Church in Pine City and was a member of the
Novak-Milliren V.F.W. of Pine City.
Lawrence is survived by his son Darrin (April) Lange of Pine City, daughter Darlene Seiler of Vallejo, Ca. grandchildren: Jennifer, Hidie, Jonathan, Amanda, Andrew, Karissa, Christopher, Brittany, Rachel and Gregory; 13 great grandchildren, brother Kenneth Lange of Mora, several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents William & Alma Lange, wife Mary Lou Lange, infant son Russell, daughter Debbie Molitor, son Douglas Lange, daughter-in-law Carolyn Lange, 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, brothers: Wilbert, Marvin, Ray Lange; and sister Verna Turtle.
Pastor Tim Adams will officiate funeral services for Lawrence Lange 11:00 a.m., Tuesday (8/21/12) at Journey North Church in Pine City. A time of visitation and reviewal will be held Monday evening (8/20/12) from 5-8 p.m. at the Swanson Chapel in Pine City as well as one hour prior at the church on tuesday. Interment will be in the Birchwood Cemetery in Pine City.
