June Marie Hoffmann

June Hoffmann passed away on Monday, September 17, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth at the age of 89. June grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Washington High School. She then attended beauty school and managed a beauty salon on Rice Street in St. Paul for over 30 years. June Hoffman married Matt Hoffmann in January of 1947 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in St. Paul and started their life together. They retired in 1985 and moved to Little Wood Lake in Wisconsin. She was an active member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary for over 50 years. She enjoyed flower gardening and embroidery. Illness caused June and Matt to move from Wisconsin and after Matt's death in 2004, June moved into the Golden Horizon Assisted Living in Pine City. As her health failed, June entered the Lakeside Medical Center where she has resided for the past two years. She will be sadly missed by Jake, Charlie, Cracker, and Maggie. She is survived by sons: John "Jack" Hoffmann and his wife Colleen of Rush City, James Hoffmann of Wyoming, MN; 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. June is preceded in death by her parents John & Marjorie Hoffman, husband Matthew Hoffmann, and her brother Sheldon Hoffman. A private family service will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to DaVita Kidney Dialysis.
