Mrs. Lynn Olson of Rock Creek; died Tuesday evening (2/12/13) at the Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, MN at the age of 67 years.
Lynn was born in Braham Minnesota in 1945. She grew up on a dairy farm near Grasston and graduated from Braham high school. She worked for Sears in Minneapolis for a short time before marrying Erling Olson and moving to West Rock Minnesota. Later she worked at Wayne’s Cafe in Rock Creek and Plastech in Rush City while farming full time and raising a family of three boys.
In addition, Lynn volunteered with the local Pine Area Lions Club serving as President twice as well as Secretary, Treasurer, Tail Twister, Vice President and on the Board of Directors. Lynn was also Chairman of the midwinter convention. She was very active in many of the fund raising events for Pine City and the City of Rock Creek.
After selling their cows in 1998 Lynn and Erling raised beef cows for three years until that cut into their fishing time in Canada; so they sold the cows and bought a cabin in Canada on a lake. They spent their time split between fishing in Canada and at home until Lynn had a stroke in 2010.
She considered her three sons and all the grandchildren to be her greatest accomplishment.
Lynn Olson is survived by her husband Erling Olson, sons Wayne Olson and his wife Lisa of Royalton Township, Scott Olson and his wife Shannon of Pine City, Steve Olson and wife Marsha of Rock Creek and her grandchildren: Jeremy, Andrew, Monica, Megan and Kasey Olson.
