Charlotte Ruth Walberg

Charlotte (Moll) Walberg was born November 15, 1924 in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. She grew up on the family farm and attended school in that area. After graduating she moved to the Twin Cities and started working at an insurance company. On September 29, 1946 Charlotte was united in marriage to Paul Walberg of Greeley, Minnesota. After the wedding they lived in Pine City, Rush City, and New Brighton. In 1960 they purchased a dairy farm in Greeley where they raised their five children. After their son purchased the farm from them they retired to their new home in Pine City. Charlotte enjoyed working at the local greenhouse and taking her granddaughter to coffee with the ladies. In the late 1990’s, she moved to Rush Oaks apartments in Rush City where she enjoyed playing games and cards with friends in the building. In February 2012, Charlotte moved to Lakeside Medical Center in Pine City where she lived until her passing on April 5, 2013 at the age of 88. Charlotte is survived by daughter Jackie (Dan) Olberg of Bloomington; sons: Jim (Atsuko) Walberg of Las Vegas, Nevada, Bob Walberg of Ham Lake, Kirk (Arlys) Walberg of Braham, Scott (Kathy) Walberg of Chisago City; grandchildren: Michael (Nicole) Walberg, Keith Walberg, Shane (Valerie) Johnson, Jennifer Pederson, Jessica Walberg, Jacob Corty, Alisen Kammerud; great-grandchildren: Abbey & Sophia Walberg, Austin & Matrum Johnson, Kaylie and Ryer Pederson; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul, parents Frank & Matilda (Marti) Moll, and brother Don Moll. Reverend John Beck will officiate funeral services for Charlotte Walberg at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 10th at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Rush City. A time of visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9th at Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City and one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family interment will be in Royalton Memorial Cemetery in Greeley.
