Kenneth Stormo of Watertown, South Dakota passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at the age of 92 at his daughter's home in Rush City, Minnesota.
Kenneth Leon Stormo was born October 24, 1920 in Hamlin county, South Dakota to Severt and Sarah (Olsen) Stormo. He grew up in the Hazel area and married Ruth Lohr December 31, 1941. The couple farmed in the Hazel area for a short time before moving to a farm in the Watertown area, where they remained until 1978. Ken and Ruth then moved to Lake Kampeska where Ken worked in maintenance at City Park during the summer months. They spent many winters in McAllen, Texas.
Ken spent many hours with his grandchildren and most recently with his great granddaughter, Kaitlyn. Being with family was very important to him. He was a long-time member of the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Watertown.
Ken is survived by his daughter Mary (James) Redfield of Rush City, Minnesota, grandchildren: Lance (Cindy) Redfield of Shoreview, Minnesota, Kari Redfield of Phoenix, Arizona, Trent Redfield of West Yellowstone, Montana, Ryan (Kim) Redfield of St. Cloud, Minnesota, granddaughter Kaitlyn Redfield. Ken is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth, son Curt and nineteen siblings.
Pastors Chris Matson and Kathy Hibbert will officiate at a funeral service; 11:00 a.m. Friday (4/12/13) at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer in Watertown, South Dakota. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned for one hour prior to the funeral service.
The interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown.
