Clifford was born December 10, 1932 in Rushseba Township, Chisago County, to Edrick and Helen (Rolander) Caza. His family lived for a short time in St. Paul, but returned to the Rush City area where Cliff attended a rural school. He worked at the Rush City Co-Op Creamery before going into the US Army in 1953 during the Korean conflict. Cliff was united in marriage to Marilyn Hansen in 1955 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Pine City. He and his family lived in northeast Minneapolis and Fridley for several years. Loving rural life, they moved to Rock Creek in 1970 purchasing his wife’s home place. After commuting to Fridley for a few months, he joined the Walt Johnson Construction crew and remained for several years.
