Leo J. Gallus Jr. was born February 7, 1931 in Delano, Minnesota to Agnes (Mross) and Leo Gallus Sr. He died peacefully at his home in Pine City on Sunday night, April 28, 2013.at the age of 82.
Leo grew up and went to school in Delano, Minnesota. He worked for the railroad for 16 years and for Hennepin County plowing snow for 29 years. Since his retirement in 1992, Leo enjoyed his life in both rural Pine City and in Quartzsite, Arizona. Leo was a gentle and caring soul who will be missed and remembered with much love.
Leo is survived by his wife Colleen of Pine City, children: Janes Diers of Inver Grove Heights, Hal Gallus of Montrose, Suzann Corwin of Charleston, South Carolina, Julie Gallus of Pine City; grandchildren: Jenny (Evan) Yoroway of Carver, Becky (Dave) Morris of Eagan, William (Jessica) Diers of Apple Valley, Amanda (Patrick) Covington of Rock Hill, South Carolina, Stephanie Corwin of Tokyo, Japan; great grandchildren: Evie & Meadow Yoroway, Emma & Owen Morris; sisters: Mary Ann Kuka of Delano, Delores (Allen) Anderson of Hanley Falls; many nieces and nephews.
Monsignor Aleksander Suchan will celebrate a Memorial Mass for Leo Gallus Jr. at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City. A time of visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will be in the Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Pine City.
