Dr. Anthony Romano “long time Pine City Dentist” passed away at his home in Pine City, on Tuesday, May 14 at the age of 85.
Tony was born on February 25, 1928, in Duluth, MN; served in the U.S. Marine Corps 1946-1948 and graduated from the University of MN School of Dentistry in 1954. He was both in private practice in Pine City and on faculty at the University of Minnesota Dental School for 39 years. He was a leader in many dental organizations and was a lifelong researcher in archeology where he published numerous papers.
Dr. Romano is survived by his wife of 64 years Patricia, his daughters Cathryn and her husband Dirk Larson of Roseville, Mary Beth Romano-Smith of Gillette, Wyoming, Ann Romano-Jarvis and her husband Richard Jarvis of Buffalo, Wyoming, Geralyn Romano and her husband Kevin Kyle of Gillette, Wyoming, Patty Jensen and husband Kip of Hancock, Minnesota, his brother Donald Romano and wife Karen of Pine City, 11 amazing grandchildren, 6 wonderful great grandchildren and special nephew Larry Baker.

Memorial services for Dr. Romano are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday (May 21, 2013) at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Pine City with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
