Kathy Hagberg

Kathleen Lucille Hagberg, age 64 of Pine City, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Kathy is survived by loving husband Walter, mother Margaret Klem, brother Kelly Klem (Janice), & sisters Sandi Schouweiler (Brian) & Tracy Scheid (Steve). Also many nieces & nephews. She is preceded in death by father, Harold Klem, sister Karon Smith, & aunt Betty Alfson. Kathleen was born on May 15, 1949. She graduated from Moundsview High School & worked as a bookkeeper until she met Walter Hagberg, the love of her life. They married in 1971 and lived in Roseville, MN until moving to a beautiful lake home on Cross Lake in Pine City, MN in 1979. Kathleen loved the life she shared with Wally, her husband of 42 years. They always welcomed friends and family into their home where she enjoyed entertaining and preparing wonderful meals. She was a fabulous cook. She had a love of music and was a gifted musician. She shared her gift by playing the organ and singing at many area churches for the past 30 years. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, gardening, reading, fishing and watching old movies with Wally. She collected antiques for their home and had a knack for finding fun and unique items. She was a friend to animals, and took loving care of their dogs and cats. Kathleen embraced life to the fullest and had a truly joyful spirit. She always had a smile on her face and shared her passion for life with everyone she encountered. Kathleen was a loving and devoted wife, daughter, sister, and friend and words cannot express how much she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Tues. July 16 @ St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Beroun, MN. Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Mon with 7:30 p.m. vigil prayers @ Swanson Funeral Chapel, 665 3rd Ave SW, Pine City & also 1 hr. prior to the service @ the church on Tues. Arrangements are with the Swanson Funeral Chapel of Pine City.
