Jeanette Anita Anderson

Jeanette Anita Anderson of Rush City passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at Gracewood Assisted Living in North Branch at the age of 93. Jeanette (Carlson) Anderson was born July 4, 1920 in Rock Creek, Minnesota to Eric T. "Pete" & Clara Mary (Schuler) Carlson. She was baptized in Rock Creek. Jeanette married John W. Anderson, January 5, 1938 at Zion Lutheran Church in Pine City. She was married to John until his death in July of 2005. Together they raised seven children, Joan, John Eric, Jerrol, Joyce, Janet, Jerome and Joel. Jeanette worked in the Rush City elementary school food service for 15 years, and as a waitress for 11 years primarily at the Grant House Hotel in Rush City and Park Cafe in Braham and also serving at many banquets. She enjoyed cake baking, sewing bridal dresses, clothes for her children and cutting their hair. Jeanette loved fishing, playing cards, dancing and baseball. She is survived by her daughters: Joan Golden of Dallas, Texas, Joyce Goebel of Dayton, Janet Olafson of Woodbury; sons: John E (Ellen) Anderson of Fort Francis, Ontario, Jerrol (Marilyn) Anderson of Cottage Grove, Jerome (Barbara) Anderson of Ocala, Florida, Joel (Pat) Anderson of Coon Rapids; 15 grandchildre and 9 great grandchildren. Jeanette is preceded in death by her husband John W. Anderson, granddaughter Carolyn Anderson, grandson Darin Anderson, daughter-in-law Sharon Anderson, sons-in-law: Gordy Goebel and Bill Golden. Rev. Laurie O'Shea will officiate at funeral services; 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rush City. Music will be provided by organist Dianne Kirchberg and soloist Marilyn Schoolmeesters. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned for Monday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Olson Chapel in Rush City as well as one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. The interment will be in the Birchwood Cemetery of Pine City with the following casket bearers: Kristina Anderson, Bret Anderson, Reed Anderson, Ryan Olafson, Grant Olafson, Eric Anderson, Andy Anderson, Kyle Nagel John Eric Anderson, Jack Anderson and Michael Anderson.
