Marilyn Mae Miska, of Pine City, passed away on August 30th, 2013 after a short battle with lung cancer at the age of 73.
Marilyn was born June 28th, 1940 in Pokegama Township to Leonard and Adeline Miller. She attended Shady Oak School through 8th grade and later graduated from Pine City High School in 1958.
In 1966 she married Virgil Miska and they made their home in Fridley. They had one son, John who was born in 1967. Marilyn worked as a nanny while still in school and at CW Transport after she was married. When John was born she decided to be a stay at home mom. In later years she worked as a caretaker helping residents and maintaining the building at Rush Oaks in Rush City, Minnesota.
Marilyn enjoyed playing cards, visiting with friend and family and camping and fishing with her husband. She was a very generous person and loved her grandchildren more than anything else.
Marilyn is survived by her son John (Sara) of Breezy Point, 3 grandchildren Miranda, Kathryn and Vincent. Sister Kathy (Coral) Gray, brothers Ted (Lucy) Miller, and Bill (Joan) Miller, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Adeline (Kryzer) Miller, husband Virgil Miska and friend Gene Anderson.
A time of sharing will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City.
