Margaret Eileen Swanson passed away at Grace Pointe Crossing-Gables West in Cambridge, Minnesota on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the age of 90.
Margaret was born to Loren and Lucille (Larson) Burho, October 13, 1922 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She grew up in north Minneapolis and graduated from North High School in 1940. Margaret was a gifted musician, playing the piano and a gifted artist who enjoyed painting. She was a terrific wife and stay-at-home Mom. In her younger years, Margaret and Sid traveled extensively in the United States and Europe. An avid joke teller, not always clean, she entertained friends and family. Margaret also enjoyed dancing, listening to music and most of all; her grandchildren!
Margaret is survived by her children: Mark Swanson and his wife Linda of Boonton, New Jersey, Alan Swanson and his wife Almeta of Stanchfield, Lee Swanson of the Philippines; grandchildren: Jenny (Kevin) Helder, Julie (Kurt) Hughes all of New Jersey, Sara (Dan) Heffernan, Ben Swanson (Ally) all of Minneapolis and great grandchildren: Travis and Derek Helder, Charlotte Hughes all of New Jersey, Ava, Chloe, Bridget and John Heffernan, Macy and Logan Swanson all of Minneapolis.
She is preceded in death by her parents Loren & Lucille Burho, her husband Sid Swanson and an infant brother.
Pastor Lyn Sahr will officiate a funeral service for Margaret Swanson at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Swanson Funeral Chapel of Pine City. A visitation will be held one hour prior at the Swanson Funeral Chapel. The interment will be in the Crystal Lake Cemetery in Minneapolis at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.
