Richard “Dick” Frank Gregor was born in Pine City to Frank and Lillian (Pavek) Gregor on Aprill 11, 1926. Dick completed 8th grade in rural Pine City. Following school, he worked on the farm and took on various jobs around Pine City. He joined the Army in 1945 and was Honorably Discharged in 1947. After his service in the Army, he married Maxine (Tracy) on June 6, 1948. In this union they had four children; Karen, Linda, Janet, and David. He bought the family farm shortly after marrying Maxine which they farmed for four years before moving to the Twin Cities.
