Carolyn Joan Rys

Carolyn Rys was born October 15, 1942 in St. Paul, MN to Stanley and Evelyn (Kryzer) Rys. She grew up in Beroun and graduated from Pine City High School in 1960. After graduation, she moved to Minneapolis and worked at Northwestern Drug Company for several years. The majority of her work career was spent at Control Data in Bloomington, which later became Seagate. This was her life; working Saturdays and Sundays for 20 plus years. She retired from Seagate and moved to Isle, Mora and Ogilvie areas. Carolyn enjoyed playing bingo, pull tabs and visiting local casinos. Due to her declining health, her last year was spent at St. Claire Community Living in Mora. She passed away there Sunday, 12/15/13 at the age of 71 years. She is survived by her sisters: Delores (Robert) Gunderson of Isle, Marian (Greg) Beske of Detroit Lakes; nieces and nephew: Jeff Gunderson of Isle, Lynn Gunderson of St. Paul Park, Cheryl (Lewis) Lynch of Hastings; and great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Evelyn Rys. Monsignor Aleksander Suchan will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation and reviewal one hour prior at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beroun. Casket bearers include: Jeff Gunderson, Chad Beckel, Jason Beckel, Courtney Gunderson, Stephanie Lynch, Tyler Schroeder. A spring interment is planned in St. Joseph’s Calvary Cemetery of Beroun. Memorials are preferred to St. Joseph’s Calvary Cemetery of Beroun.
