Sandra Elizabeth Bombard

June 18, 1949 — December 25, 2013

Sandra “Sandi” Elizabeth Reynolds Bombard passed away on December 25, 2013 peacefully at her home in Pine City, surrounded by her family.Sandi was born on June 18th 1949 in Chicago Illinois to Lloyd and Jeanne (Anderson) Reynolds. Sandi lived her younger years in Houston, Texas, moved to the Minneapolis, Minnesota area; attending several area schools, and graduated from Lincoln High School in Bloomington, Minnesota in 1967.In 1968 she met Terry Bombard her soul mate and best friend. They were married on August 9, 1969 at the Immaculate Conception Church of Pine City, Minnesota. Together they purchased a 40 acre farm southeast of Pine City in 1972, where they spent the next 44 years together. She loved the farm life which was evident by the many different animals she raised over the years. Sandi was an avid reader and would read, learn, and study all of the various breeds of farm animals raised on the farm; horses being her favorite. One of her greatest pleasures was breeding, raising, breaking, and riding her own horses. Sandi and her three children were very active in 4-H and the surrounding community. Together with her children, Sandi showed sheep, horses, and beef cattle at the local county fairs. She was a member of the local saddle club Chengwatana Riders, serving as their queen in 1974 and later as their president.Sandi also served on the Pine City Township planning commission as chairperson for over 10 years. She was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church serving as a lector for over 30 years. She also taught religious education classes, mentoring young people in their faith.Sandi’s work outside her home included a variety of jobs. Her first was at a horse training stable in Hamel, MN. In Pine City she worked for a local hardware store, was a real estate agent for Century 21, worked at two sporting goods stores, was an administrative assistant for Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, and worked at Central Livestock in Rock Creek, MN. She also started a website design company from her home office.Sandi was a very talented person. She loved to paint, plant and grow flowers, take pictures, hunt, fish, and travel. One of her greatest loves was an annual trip to Wyoming to hunt and enjoy the sites. She referred to this favorite spot as “A little bit of Heaven on Earth”.Sandi had a great love for life. Throughout her illness, her doctors were amazed that no matter what kind of day she was having, or how much discomfort she was in, she would greet everyone around her with a smile. We consider her smile one of her greatest gifts to the people around her, and will be one of the many things that will be missed.Sandi was preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Reynolds. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Terry Bombard; daughter Kimberly (Mark), son Scott (Laurina), son Kent (Aaron); grandchildren Madelyn, Elizabeth, Evelyn, and Earl; mother Jeannie Conrady;  siblings Debbie Schmidt, Lief (Eve) Erickson, Becka (Rob) Legler, Kyle Conrady, and Adam (Shannon) Conrady;  mother-in-law and father-in-law, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law;  and many nieces and nephews.Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, December 30th, 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Monsignor Aleksander Suchan celebrating the mass.
