Vera Viola Vesely

Vera "Toots" Viola Vesely, formerly of Pine City, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at her home in Boise, Idaho at the age of 89.Vera was born July 31, 1924 in Pine City, MN., the oldest child of Grant and Alta (Haynes) Nicoll.She married George Vesely on February 24, 1941 in Pine City, MN.  They had one child, Leo Vesely.  Most of her life Vera and George lived and worked on their farm east of Pine City.  After the death of George in 1989, Vera moved to Idaho to be near her son and grandchildren.Beside working on the farm, Vera worked at many jobs in the Pine City area.  One of these jobs included working for Super Value Grocery store.  While in Boise, Idaho, she worked for Williamson Management Co. for several years.Vera's greatest joy was her family and friends.  She was an amazing cook and took pleasure in filling her home and dinner table with family as often as possible.  When she wasn't working she enjoyed garage sales and shopping.  She always had room in her heart and home for her family and new friends.Vera leaves behind her son Leo (Cheryl) Vesely of Nampa, Idaho, granddaughter Karsten (Mike) Hymas of Boise, Id., her grandson Joshua Vesely of Princeton, MN., a step-granddaughter Stacey (Brandon) Pechin of Meridian, Id., her great-grandson Charles Damien Evans of Boise, Id, a step-great-grandson Carter Pechin of Meridian, Id., step-great grandson Mikey Hymas of Boise, Id., step-great-granddaughter Alia Hymas of Boise, Id., and a great-great-granddaughter Caitlynne Evans of Boise, Id.  She is also survived by a brother David (Allison) Nicoll of Bentonville, AR., sister Leona Carlson (Mike Walker) of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin and many nieces and nephews.Vera was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Laural Nicoll and his wife Joyce Nicoll, a sister-in-law Eunice Nicoll, and three nephews, David Nicoll, Joel Carlson and Randy Carlson.Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 29th at Swanson Funeral Chapel  with a gathering after the service at the Heath-Perkins American Legion of Pine City. Interment will be in Birchwood Cemetery.
