Samuel (Sam) Murray Furber of Pine City, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Grace Point West Gables Nursing Home in Cambridge, MN at the age of 79.
Sam was born September 19, 1934 in St. Paul, the only child to Frank and Helen Furber. Sam married Beverly (Kanneman) on March 19th, 1960 in Madelia, MN. They had two children, Lynn (Nicoll) Furber and Kris (Bombard) Furber.
Sam grew up in St. Paul, MN and moved to Cedar Grove, MN after getting married to Bev. They lived there for about 10 years before making the move to Pine City where they spent the rest of their lives together.
Sam worked as a salesman most of his life with some modeling on the side until he purchased The Gingerbread House in Signal Hills shopping center in West St. Paul. After the sale of the business he started working at Carpet Unlimited in Pine City until he retired.
Sam lived for the outdoors. He enjoyed everything from hunting, fishing, boating, golfing, and even swimming. He held a 56 year legacy of going out to the same duck hunting spot every year. When he wasn’t in the outdoors, you could find him following sports on TV or playing cards with family and friends, and when it came to family and friends that is truly what Sam lived for.
