Adeline Martha Soderbeck

Adeline M. (Schumacher) Soderbeck, was born February 26, 1924, to William O. and Martha (Fritsche) Schumacher on a farm west of Beroun, Minnesota. She was the youngest of 15 children. She passed away February 1, 2014, at Lakeside Nursing Home in Pine City after a short stay. Adeline attended school in Beroun and graduated from Hinckley High School in 1942. On December 5, 1942, she married Robert Soderbeck at Zion Lutheran Church in Pine City. To this union six children were born. Adeline and Robert farmed all their near 70 years of marriage east of Pine City. She was a farm wife and homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers. She was a collector of orange Viking Glass and Precious Moments figurines. She always had the coffee pot on for visitors and made the best homemade bread and flapjacks, cookies and soda cracker pie and eagerly awaited visits from the kids, grandkids and great grandkids. Adeline and Robert enjoyed trips to Iowa, Illinois, Branson, Florida, Arizona, Seattle and Alaska. She is survived by her six children: Joanne (Douglas) Miller, Litchfield; Larry (Linda) Soderbeck, Pine City; Karen (Patrick) Monigold, Apple Valley; Marjean (George) Shermer, Bethel; John Soderbeck, Pine City; Mark (Roxanne) Soderbeck, Pine City; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Adeline was preceded in death by her husband Robert in 2012; 6 brothers: Hjalmer, Edwin, George, Ben, Alvin and Wilbert, and 8 sisters: Lillian, Linda, Amanda, Hilda, Hazel, Hattie, Evelyn and Betty. Blessed be her memory. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Milburn Cemetery east of Pine City. Arrangements are entrusted to the Funeral and Cremation Service of Pine City~ Swanson Chapel.
