Walter "John" John Sanvig

Mr. John Sanvig passed away accidentally Wednesday (1/29/14) in Braham at the age of 39. John was born December 18, 1974 in St. Paul, MN. He attended high school in North Branch where he met Kari Lerud. The couple became engaged on January 26, 1992 and were married May 17, 1997. Their son Tyler was an important addition to their family, and even when John and Kari went their separate ways they remained close at heart for there son. Kari had another child after their separation and John was honored when Kari asked if Skye could take on his last name. John was a very supportive father when it came to school events, holidays and he always kept in touch no matter where he was in life. The "fun parent" John enjoyed playing video games all night with Tyler and Skye. He always lived on the wild side but is loved and will be remembered by his family. Professionally, John was a drywall contractor working in the residential and commercial construction areas. He owned a business known as Sanvig Sanding. Extremely handy and crafty, John enjoyed building and fixing cars; riding motorcycles and playing video games with his children. John Sanvig is survived by his son Tyler Sanvig and fiancé Stephanie Miklya of Cushing WI.; his daughter Skye Sanvig also of Cushing, WI., his parents Mike and Carol Peterson of Braham, siblings; Christopher Sanvig and wife Kristine of Harris, Jesse Peterson and wife Kristin of Braham, and Chelsea Herme and husband Dan of Apple Valley. Also surviving John are his two grandfathers Duane Peterson of Milaca and Art Sanvig of Luck, WI. and extended family Jan Lerud of Cushing, WI. Pastor David Stertz will officiate at a memorial service for John Sanvig; 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, (2/5/14) at the Sunrise Bible Church in Sunrise. A time of visitation is planned for 2 hrs. prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the family.
