Mrs. Lorraine Pangerl of Pine City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 18th at her home surrounded by her family, at the age of 76.
Lorraine was born December 29, 1937 in Little Falls, Minnesota to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Novak) Schoeberl. The family moved to Rush City in her childhood years. She attended Rush City Schools and graduated in 1955. She later married the love of her life, Leo Pangerl, on July 23, 1955. They resided east of Pine City on a dairy farm, where they raised seven daughters and one son.
Lorraine was a hard-working and dedicated farm wife. After farming, Lorraine worked in Grantsburg and Rush City Hospitals and in later years continued working at Wal-Mart in pine City. Lorraine loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed many vacations and camping trips with her children and grandchildren. She was always up for a game of cards, being one of her favorite pastimes. She also had a passion for her music, playing both piano and accordion.
Lorraine was diagnosed with a terminal illness shortly before her death. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
Lorraine is survived by her husband Leo, children: Lynn (Daryl) Lindstrom of Rock Creek, Judy (Mike) Neunsinger of Rush City, Robert (Kari) Pangerl of Cambridge, Michelle (Larry) Johnson of Rock Creek, Laurie (Danny) Kryzer of Beroun, Sue (Mark) Lane of Beroun, Maria (Bob) Baker of Pine City, Jenny (Jeff) Holman of Big Timber, Montana; 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; siblings: Barb (Mike) Mahoney of Winstead, Robert (Faith) Schoeberl of Sisseton, South Dakota, Loretta (Jerome) Kryzer of Onamia, Margie (Bob) Biniek of St. Cloud, Jean Holsinger of Minneapolis, Bernie (Dede) Schoeberl of Savage; many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence & Elizabeth (Novak) Schoeberl, grandson Kerian Kryzer, sisters-in-law Lorraine Mullins and Lucille Chapin.
A funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 22 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Pine City. A visitation will be held on Friday evening at the Swanson Funeral Chapel from 4-7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
