Jean Ann Hansen, age 85, of Rush City, passed away on March 1st, 2014 at the Golden Living Center.
She was born on October 30, 1928 to Arthur & Ann (Doncaster) Eiffler in Friesland, MN. She attended Cloverdale and Hinckley schools and graduated from Pine City High School in 1947. Jean Married Charles Hansen in 1957. They had no children of their own, but babysat for many of the neighborhood kids. With pride, Jean would say "do you know, I've had over 100 kids."
Jean had several jobs besides the kids. She was a cook at Tobie's Restaurant in Hinckley, at the Rush City A&W and at the Raven's Nest in Rush City. Jean owned a local restaurant for a time on the south side of main street in Rush City. She unloaded food at the co-op grocery store for the less fortunate, cleaned for Lincoln Federal Savings and Loan, Dr. Guptil the local dentist, the municipal building, city hall and the local post office. Besides making countless crafts for family and friends.
She is survived by her sister Shirley Hjerpe of Rush City, sister-in-law Nellie Eiffler of Spring Lake, nephews: Steve (Sue) Hjerpe of Rush City, Lloyd (Karen) Olson of Hutchinson, George Carlson of Grantsburg, WI, Peter (Lois) Hansen of Minneapolis, David (Susan) Hansen of Minneapolis, Michael (April) Hansen of Minneapolis, James Pardun of Siren, WI and William (Diane) Pardun of Tampa, FL; nieces: Linda (Fred) Mell of Brainerd, Nancy (Greg) Rosol of Olivia, Janell (Reid) Masloski of North Branch, Tammy (Eric) Frank of North Branch, Deloris Bollin of Litchfield, Lois Mae (Tom) Terning of Sedan, Kansas, Shirley Wright of Hutchinson, Elizabeth (Dale) Tyberg of Grantsburg, WI, Jean (David) Francis of Glendale, AZ and Rhonda (Jason) Eisenbeis of Minneapolis; great nephews & nieces: Travis, Kati & Molly Hjerpe, Renell & Andy Masloski, Erin Rosol; special friends Dale Jaffrey and Carmon Bergeron of Rush City and hundreds of day care children she raised as her own.
Jean Hansen is preceded in death by her parents Art & Ann Eiffler, husband Chuck Hansen and her brothers Jack and Jim Eiffler.
Pastor Ruth Titus will officiate Jean's funeral service; 12 noon Saturday (3/8/14) with a time of visitation and reviewal one hour prior; all at the Swanson Chapel in Pine City.
Interment will be in the Mission Covenant Cemetery in Rush City.
