Arlene was born to Bohumil and Lula Washa in Phillips, Wisconsin on July 2, 1938. She grew up and graduated from Phillips public schools. On February 15, 1964 she married William Dunbar of which they had four boys: Lee, David, Paul and Arlen. In 1973 they moved the family to the farm just east of Pine City.
Arlene’s interests included needle point, fishing, collecting cow memorabilia, stuffed animals and figurines, but most of all spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren. Arlene spent the last 12 years of her life at Gracepointe Crossing Gables West in Cambridge until her passing on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the age of 75.
She is survived by her children: Lee Dunbar of Phoenix, AZ, David (Melanie) Dunbar of Braham, Paul (Lisa) Dunbar, Arlen Dunbar both of Pine City; grandchildren: Carmen (Jarrod) Carroll of Lindstrom, Krista Roubinek of Cambridge, Jon Dunbar of Fergus Falls, Adam (Nikki) Roubinek of Colorado, Josh Roubinek of Cambridge, Ellen Dunbar (Carl Johnson) of Sandstone, Ariel Dunbar, Olivia Dunbar both of Pine City; great grandchildren: Kaia Kaar, Kaden Kaar of Cambridge, Emma Carroll of Lindstrom; siblings: Mae Sir of Phillips, WI, Clara Komatz of Superior, WI, Art (VI) Washa of Green Bay, WI, Richard Washa of Phillips, WI, Irene Peterson of Superior, WI, Robert Washa of Prentice, WI and Lorraine Washa of Superior, WI.
Arlene is preceded in death by her parents Bohumil & Lu (McKibben) Washa, husband William Dunbar and sister Betty Ellen Washa.
A funeral service will be held for Arlene Dunbar at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29th at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Birchwood Cemetery of Pine City.
