Florence M. Larson of North Branch, formerly of Rush City, MN; passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the age of 93 at Ecumen in North Branch with her family by her side.Florence was born May 11, 1920 in Hayward, Wisconsin to Arthur and Etta Hageman. She married Charles E. Larson April 10, 1938 and the couple had a family of six children. Florence worked at the Rush City Hospital for thirty years as a nurses aide. She loved living on her farm, it was hard for her to leave when it was time for her to move to town and later to Ecumen.She enjoyed traveling and seeing many sites. She had a great love for animals; horses, cats and dogs. When she left the farm it was very difficult for her to give up her cat and dogs. She loved being with her family especially seeing and being with hergrandchildren.At the age of 90 her wish was to ride a horse and she did. At 91 her wish was to have a ride on a motorcycle and she did. She also loved checking out the thrift stores in neighboring towns. She was a long time member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Rush City.She is survived by her five children: Darlene Hall of Webster, WI, LeRoy (LouAnn) Larson of Rush City, Carol Splittstoser of North Branch, Joyce (Bradford) McAbee of Cushing, WI, Gerald (Linda) Larson of Rush City; daughter-in-law Sharon Larson of Wyoming; 14 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; sisters: Esther Olson of Warden, WA, Eva (Donald) Clark of Stone Lake, WI; sister-in-law Natalie Hageman, and many nieces and nephews.Florence is preceded in death by her parents Art & Etta Hageman, husband Charles Larson, son Leslie Larson, son-in-law Stan Hall; grandchildren Gary and Daryl Larson, Lonnie, LaDonna and LaDean Larson, sisters: Helen Metcalf, Betty Dwyer, Frances Lindell and Bonnie Emery; and her brother Arthur Hageman.Reverend John Beck officiated funeral services; 11:00 a.m., Thursday (4/10/2014) at St. John’s Lutheran Church of Rush City. Music was provided by Dick Scheele. The interment was in the First Lutheran Cemetery of Rush City with Florence's grandsons acting as honorary casket bearers.
