Bruce C. Walters of North Branch, formerly of Woodbine, Iowa, passed away suddenly at his home on May 11, 2014 at the age of 64.
Bruce was born April 20, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa. He grew up in Guthrie Center, Iowa and graduated from high school there in 1968. He attended college at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He met and married Rebecca Larson on August 29, 1970. The couple moved to Woodbine, Iowa, where he was the Superintendent for the Municipal Utilities. In 1985, the family moved to North Branch, Minnesota, where Bruce was employed in a similar position until 2005.
Bruce enjoyed traveling, fishing at the couple's cabin in Canada and woodworking projects. He also loved to read and working on home improvement projects.
Bruce is survived by his wife Becky, daughter Brenda Stomberg and her husband Dale of Braham, son Bill Walters and his wife Rachelle of Leadville, Colorado; grandchildren: Samuel, Zachary, Nathaniel and Joseph, Mother Naida Walters of Guthrie Center, Iowa; his sister Lori Bracken and husband Carl of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, his brother Dan Walters and wife Bev of Thor, Iowa; mother-in-law Judith Larson of Missouri Valley, Iowa and other relatives and friends.
Bruce was preceded in death by his father William Walters and father-in-law Wayne Larson.
A time of visitation and reviewal is scheduled for Wednesday (5/14/14) evening from 5-8 p.m. concluding with a funeral service @ 8 p.m. at the Olson Chapel in Rush City.
A visitation from 1-3 P.M. Thursday (5/15/14) at the Twig Funeral Home in Guthrie Center, Iowa is planned followed by the interment at 3:15 p.m. in the Union Cemetery; Guthrie Center, Iowa.
