Ronald Alve Stumne

Ron Stumne of Pine City, passed away very unexpectedly while fishing in Wisconsin, at the age of 53. Ron graduated from Robbinsdale Cooper High School in 1979, and began working as an Apprentice Pipefitter. He attended Dunwoody College of Technology and graduated in 1992 with his Pipefitter Journeyman requirements. He was employed as a Pipefitter for 24 years with the Pipefitters Local Union 539, several of which he spent working alongside his dad. In 2006, Ron moved to Pine City. He became the caretaker where he lived, and put many of his talents to good use. In his spare time, he could be found working on custom shadow boxes for family and friends, taking one of his annual fishing trips, hunting, snowmobiling, or at the flea market with his dad. He was also an avid rodeo fan and a member on the Buffalo Rodeo Committee. Ron will be remembered for his quick whit that could make anyone laugh, and the smile that never left his face. He cared deeply for his family and friends and was a very proud grandpa. Ron is survived by his father Alve Stumne and his wife Lu of Pine City; mother Lynn Stumne of Ft. Meyers; sons: Erik and his wife Candi Stumne of Buffalo; Aaron Stumne of Hanover; grandchildren: Sabrrina Osberg and Hannah Stumne; sisters Bonnie Stumne of Becker; Michelle Stumne and her husband John of Otsego; along with many other family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1st at the Swanson Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5-8:00 p.m. also at the Swanson Funeral Chapel of Pine City. Interment will be at Birchwood Cemetery.
