Burt Hartman of Rush City passed away at the Lakeside Medical Center on Friday, September 1, 2014 at the age of 86.
Burt served his country in WWII with the US Navy. He was a master carpenter with the Local 851 in St. Paul and retired in 1990. Burt served on the Rush City Planning Commission Board from 1989 to 2007. In retirement he and his wife Ann would spend winters in Texas where they met and still have many friends from almost every state. He was an avid outdoorsman and was very much at home in a canoe. He was also an accomplished artist, photographer and furniture maker.

Burt is survived by his wife Ann, children: Kurt Hartman and his wife Debbie of Davison, MI, Christina Frutiger and her husband David of Gig Harbor, WA, Conrad Hartman of Flint, MI, Elizabeth Truby and her husband George of Little Rock, CA; step daughter Diane Lawton of Laughlin, NV, 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank & Murial (Stuart) Hartman, three brothers, two sisters, and his son Mark Hartman.
A memorial visitation will be held on Monday evening, September 8th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Olson Funeral Chapel of Rush City. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis on Tuesday, September 9th at 11:45 a.m. - Meet at Assembly Area #4 at 11:35 a.m.
