Allen “Wolf” Nelson passed away on October 14, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family members.
Allen was born January 4, 1966 in Minneapolis; he is the son of Ted and Barb Nelson. In 1972, his family moved to Henriette, MN. where he lived his childhood years through high-school with his parents and 3 siblings. He graduated from Pine City high school in 1984. He worked throughout high school as a farm hand for many farmers in the area as well as enjoying trapping, hunting and fishing. He also participated in wrestling and football at school.
After graduation, Allen worked for Asplundh Tree, Inc. for many years. He also has worked as an electrician and machinist. Allen was very independent and entrepreneurial owning several businesses over the years, including Lone Wolf Construction Co., Hideaway Bait & Tackle and co-owned Trees R Us with Iver Petersen.
Allen is survived by his wife Audra Nowling, who he was lucky to marry in 1999; his son and daughter-in-law Willy and Kayla Taylor and four granddaughters who he loved unconditionally; step-son Justin Taylor as well as many others he claimed as his own, too many to be counted. He is also survived by his mother Barb Nelson and Gene Hermanson, siblings: Bryan (Joni) Nelson, Dawn (Jeff) Klose, Corey Reed; uncle Bruce Price and many nieces and nephews.
Allen was preceded in death by his father Ted Nelson, father-in-law and mother-in-law Laverne and Sally Nowling, grandparents and uncles.
Allen was known to work hard and play hard. He loved to spend any spare time with his family and friends, but especially his kids and grandkids. Most recently he enjoyed time visiting with fellow fishing and hunting enthusiasts at his bait shop, swapping tales about the big one that got away. He was proud of his construction projects including his bait shop and home. He enjoyed his dogs and riding his Harley.
He will be missed by those who loved him.
A Memorial Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday October 21st at the Henriette Community Church with Pastor Marvin Miller officiating. Visitation will take place on Monday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Swanson Funeral Chapel of Pine City. Inurnment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery of Mora, Minnesota.
