Glenda Jo Christianson

Glenda Jo Christianson of Pine City passed away at her home on Friday, October 17th at the age of 51.  Glenda was born on November 23, 1962 to Ronald & Judy (Johnson) LaGrander in Cadott, Wisconsin. She graduated from Spring Valley High School in Spring Valley, Wisconsin in June of 1981. Glenda attended and graduated from Viterbo College in LaCrosse, Wisconsin with a Bachelors of Science Degree and became state board certified as a Registered Nurse in 1985. She worked on the adolescent phych ward at St. Francis Hospital in LaCrosse, Wisconsin for a year. On January 24, 1986 she married Bill Christianson. Their family started in February of 1990 when Billy T. was born. In October of 1996 Julia Beth was born completing their family. In August of 1986 they moved to Mt. Vernon, Indiana and Glenda began working on the adult psych ward at Welborn Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. Glenda was promoted to Nurse Recruiter for Welborn Hospital in 1989 and remained in that position until 1995 when she became an EMT Course Coordinator for IVY Technical College in Evansville, Indiana. In August of 1998 the family moved to Pine City, Minnesota. Glenda was hired in September of 2000 as the Licensed School Nurse for the Pine City School District and held this position until the time of her death.  Glenda is survived by her husband Bill, son Billy, daughter Julia all of Pine City, mother Judy LaGrander of Baldwin, WI, sister Marcia LaGrander (Anne Marciniak) of Minneapolis, brothers: Scott LaGrander of White Bear Lake, Kurt LaGrander of Hammond, WI, Pete LaGrander and his wife Renee of Baldwin, WI; and many other relatives and friends. Glenda is preceded in death by her father Ronald LaGrander.  UPDATED MEMORIAL SERVICE INFORMATION:A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24th at the Pine City Evangelical Free Church Lighthouse.
