Carol June Luedtke

Carol J. Luedtke, age 80, former business owner of Luedtke’s Tavern in Beroun, Minnesota died Tuesday, November 13 after a long battle with diabetes. She passed away at Lakeside Nursing Home with her family at her side. Carol was born March 18, 1934 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Jesus Bernardo and Evelyn (Koeffler) Diaz. She attended the local schools and worked in the Milwaukee area. She met Richard “Dick” Luedtke here and they were married in St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 24, 1958. After marriage they lived in Madison, Wisconsin for a short time later moving back to Milwaukee. After a period of time they moved to the Pine City area purchasing the Luedtke’s Tavern in Beroun, Minnesota. They owned and operated this business until retirement in 1997. Dick passed away in 2003 at which time Carol moved to Westchester Village in Pine City. Carol enjoyed living at Westchester, living a full social life. She very much enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and recent great granddaughter. She is survived by her children Lyn (Bryant) Anderson of Beroun, Gregg Luedtke of Brook Park, Scott (Sonia) Luedtke of Terry, Montana, Kevin (Kelley Anderson) Luedtke of Rush City, grandchildren Jesse (Gena) Anderson, Jaclyn Anderson, Michael, Brandon, Alyssa, Chelsea, Weston, Dakota Luedtke, Ashley (Cassandra) Luedtke, great granddaughter Riley Anderson and sister Joanne (Herm) Scampini of California. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Dick” Luedtke, her parents Jesus & Evelyn Diaz, sister Marie Diaz, and daughter-in-law Kimberly Luedtke. A Memorial Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, November 20th at Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City with Pastor Jeremy Langmade officiating. A Memorial Visitation will begin two hours prior to the service at 4:00 p.m. Arrangements are with the Funeral and Cremation Service, Swanson Chapel of Pine City.
