Pearl Viola Harriet Wilcox

Mrs. Pearl Wilcox of Harris; passed away Friday (11/21/14) at Gracewood Senior Living of North Branch at the age of 88. Pearl Viola Wilcox was born in Fish Lake Township on October 2, 1926 as the forth child of Rudolph and Jennie Swanson. Her family moved to Peaceful Valley when she was just a baby and she attended grade school there through eighth grade. Pearl graduated from North Branch High School in 1944. She was a true farm girl and worked hard on the family farm her growing up years. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church of Harris, where she served her Lord as Sunday School Superintendent, a teacher and also held other positions. When she lived in California she also continued teaching the precious truths of the Bible to children there. Pearl was united in marriage to Weslie Wilcox of Sunrise, MN on June 5, 1954 in a ceremony at her parents home. They lived in Harris most of their lives, except for four years in Santa Rosa, California. Wes and Pearl wintered in McAllen, Texas for 15 years and met many more good friends. Pearl was a member of the Harris Legion Auxiliary for 35 years. She worked at North Branch High School for eighteen years in the Audio Visual Department and also the Library. She was always working on sewing or handwork projects and loved to cook. Pearl was a part of a close and loving family. She is survived by her sister Elsie and husband Jack Ouradnik of Beroun, good friends Shane and Gabi Stepp of Sunrise, many cousins and relatives. She was beloved by many and preceded in death by her husband Weslie, her parents, and three brothers Vernon, Raymond and Chester. Reverend Dale Stiles will officiate a memorial service at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Fish Lake Lutheran Church of Harris. Inurnment will be in the Sunrise Cemetery in Sunrise, MN.
