Scott Ferngren of Grasston, formerly of Rush City passed away Friday (1/2/15) at his home; at the age of 55. Scott William Ferngren was born on Oct. 8, 1959 in St. Paul to Erick and Carol (Blanchard) Ferngren. He was the oldest of five boys. Scott was fearless is in his younger years and was always about enjoying life. Bungee jumping, yearly trips to the Indy 500, softball, snowmobiling and hunting trips with the family were just a few. Thirty years ago Scott met the love of his life, Gayle Blazejak at his Brother Daniel’s (Shelly) wedding. There began a bond that could not be broken. Along with this his family grew with two children, Kelly and Jennifer. Scott became a very devoted father and two more bonds began. He enjoyed camping, boating and snowmobile trips with the family and friends where many happy memories were made. Scott was a very devoted fan of the "Minnesota Wild" and "Minnesota Twins". Many of games were enjoyed at the stadiums with his beloved wife Gayle. He was a very compassionate person in his own special way to which he touched many of those close to him. He is survived by his wife Gayle, daughter Jennifer (Eric) Wise of Pine City, grandchildren: Charles, William, Peyton & Aliyah, parents Erick & Carol Ferngren of Rush City, brothers Tim Ferngren of Rush City, Tom (Roxanne) Ferngren of Mora, Dan (Shelly) Ferngren of Clearwater, many nieces and nephews, brother-in-law Donald Anderson (Linda Valdez) of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, son Kelly "Tank" Anderson and his brother Robert Ferngren. Memorials may be directed to a cure for Pancreatic Cancer: some options are American Cancer Society, Lustgarten Foundation, Patrick Swayze pancreas cancer research fund, curePC, etc. Pastor Tim Adams will officiate at Scott's memorial service; 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, (1/7/15), at the Swanson Funeral Chapel of Pine City with a time of visitation one hour prior. A luncheon will follow the service at the Novak-Milliren VFW Post 4258, 600 1st Ave N.W. Pine City, MN 55063.
