Julia Hermann, of Pine City, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at the Lakeside Medical Center at the age of 96. Julia Hermann was born the daughter of Anthoni and Zofia (Sowa) Kluk. She had four brothers: Edmund, Joseph, Anthony and Henry and a baby sister Helen. Julia married Lloyd Orvis and had a daughter Sharon Marie. Later in years she married George Hermann. Julia loved working with pastries. She had worked at the bakery in Pine City and made wonderful sweet rolls and hamburgers. After her retirement she would make kolache sweet rolls weekly for her family. And for holidays Julia would make perogies the traditional way her mother had taught her. Julia also enjoyed going out for coffee with her friends and looking for garage sales, many times taking her great granddaughters with her. Canning season was also a busy time for Julia - her cupboards were always full. Weekly visits with Julia were special for family members and friends. Good times, good food and good memories. She is survived by her granddaughter Jody (Michael) Anderson of Mora, son-in-law Larry Anderson of Rock Creek, great granddaughters: Christina Mosher of Minneapolis, Ashley (Mitch) Sheeren of Spring, Texas; great great granddaughter Zofia Sheeren, and many other relatives and friends. Julia is preceded in death by her parents Anthoni & Zofia (Sowa) Kluk, husbands Lloyd Orvis and George Hermann; daughter Sharon Anderson, brothers: Tony, Joe, Ed and Henry, baby sister Helen, and her special friend Bob Surdey. Reverend Glen Kleppe will officiate the memorial service at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, February 22, 2015 at the Zion Lutheran Church of Pine City. A time of visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in the Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at a later date.
