Stephanie Ann Peters

September 13, 1970 — March 18, 2015

Stephanie Ann Peters was the fourth child born to Duane and Kay Peters in Chisago City, MN on September 13, 1970. Stephanie attended Rush City Schools until the family moved to Pine City in 1980. She attended Pine City Schools until she graduated in 1989. Stephanie had her first child in November of 1988, Travis Lee Leibel. She married Jeff Leibel on March 16, 1990. In March of 1992 the had their second child Tyler Jon Leibel. Stephanie and her family resided in Rush City. In May of 1995, she had a third child Christian Patrick Flaherty. Stephanie lived in Pine City most of her adult life. She took a few adventures to other places but she always came back home. Stephanie was an artistic and creative person. When her sons were young, you could always count on finding a mural she painted on one of their walls. At her home is Rush City, she painted the mural of Baby Mickey, Baby Minnie and the house club babies. At her home in Pine City, she painted the mural of the Yellow Brick Road from Wizard of Oz. Stephanie had a zest for life like no other. She wasn't afraid to tell you how she felt about something, but she would always end her talk with, "I Love You!" You could never stay angry with her- she wouldn't allow it. Stephanie certainly always seemed to pick the roughest roads to follow, but always came out stronger for it. Growing up with with her siblings, she was always the mischief maker. In her younger years her and her cousin Traci always seemed to be scheming something, but they were so damn cute, they always seemed to get away with it. In her teens it was her and her sister Kristi causing mischief. Steph pushed against rules all her life and did things her own way. We should all take lessons from that. Live your life with no regrets and like everyday is your last. Stephanie enjoyed summer nights sitting around the campfire with her children, sister Lori, dad and whomever else came to visit. It was always a BBQ and just kick back and visit, laugh and staring at the stars searching the skies. On the Fourth of July, she would light sparklers that she had placed around the yard for the kids to enjoy. She was always thinking for the safer side for her children, nieces and nephews and any other child that was there to enjoy. Most recently she lived in Grantsburg, WI to be closer to her job at Parker Hannifin, a job she was very proud of. She participated in their 5K walks, joined their Wellness Group and made many friends there. Stephanie and her dad were exceptionally close. She told her dad she wanted to go before him because she couldn't bear to lose him in her life. Dad told her not to make it anytime soon but once again she pushed the rules and had it her way. Stephanie Ann Peters of Pine City passed away Wednesday, March 18th at Regions Hospital in St. Paul at the age of 44.
