Rick Skalicky

July 19, 1955 — March 27, 2015

Rick Skalicky, 59, of Brook Park, Minnesota, lost his courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer on March 27th, 2015. He was surrounded by loved ones as he drifted to the spirit in the sky. Rick was born in 1955 to Raymond and Emily Skalicky. Rick and his nine siblings were raised on a farm east of Beroun. Rick met his wife Sue in 1990 and the two built their home in Brook Park. Although Rick never had any biological children, he treated Sue’s three children, Jennifer, Michael, and Amanda as if they were his own. Rick took so much pride in his job of 16 years at Asian Foods as a route driver. He loved seeing his customers and made a lot of lifelong friends. Rick loved life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, being outdoors, and traveling. Rick and Sue have been many places and seen many things. He often spoke of their adventures and had no regrets. He always said he had seen everything a person should. Rick is survived by his wife, Sue Holmberg-Skalicky of Brook Park; Children: Jennifer Swanson of Litchfield; Michael Swanson of Fairbanks, Alaska; Amanda (Donny) Brown of Beroun; grandson Jordan Abbott, Parents: Raymond and Emily Skalicky of Pine City; Siblings: Marlene (Leroy) Bible of Beroun; Terry Skalicky of Pine City; Roxanne Jaworski of Pine City; Tim (Deb) Skalicky of Pine City; Danny Skalicky of Brook Park; Randy Skalicky of Pine City, Scott (Kenna) of Jackson, MN; Jeff (Karen) Skalicky of Beroun and many more family members and friends. Rick is preceded in death by his sister Sharon Baum of Pine City. "Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you there." - Isla Paschal Richardson Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1st at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Beroun. A time of visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A Celebration of Rick’s Life will follow the funeral at the Pine City American Legion from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Calvary Cemetery in Beroun.
