Janet Pederson of Rush City passed away at the age of 62 on May 16, 2015 at her home. She was born to Ed and Gertrude Jager in Estherville, Iowa on August 2, 1952. She graduated from high school in Jackson, Minnesota in 1970, where she also attended and graduated from a local community college.
Janet worked for the City of Jackson and also for the Pioneer Seeds in Jackson before moving to the Twin Cities in 1982. While living in the Twin Cities she worked for Bunge Grain until the office closed in 1995. In the fall of 1995 she went to work for Quality Park Products, a Cenveo Inc. Company where she was employed and most recently served as the regional Human Resources manager.
On February 29, 1992, Janet married Dennis Pederson and they made their home in Rush City, Minnesota. Janet enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, traveling, baseball games especially when Brad was playing, working in her flower garden, playing video games, reading, and especially "face time" with her grandson on Sundays. She will be greatly missed by family and many friends.
She is survived by her husband Dennis, son Brad (Krissy) Dunker and grandson William (Will) all of Anchorage, AK, brother Reynold (Donna)Jager of Mission, TX, father-in-law Albon Pederson and sister-in-law Ann (Paul) Larson of Viroqua, WI, nieces and nephews and many friends.
She is prededed in death by parents Ed & Gertrude Jager and mother-in-law Lucille Pederson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance (M.O.C.A.), University of Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Center, Northern Star Council, B.S.A. Scholarship Fund or the donor's choice.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Melissa Geller and staff, The Masonic Cancer Center and the nurses and staff on 7C at the University hospital for making Janet as comfortable as possible.
Pastor Laurie O'Shea will officiate the funeral service for Janet Pederson on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at 7:00 p.m., with visitation from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City. The interment will be Thursday at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
