Eldora Anderson, Mrs. Dudley Anderson of St. Andrews Village, Mahtomedi, MN died June 5, 2015 at Good Samaritan Society-Maplewood of St. Paul, MN at the age of 92 years.
Eldora is survived by her children Gary & Elaine Anderson of Apple Valley, Adele & Jerry Harmon of Greeley, CO, and Neil & Bonnie Anderson of Lake Elmo; Grandchildren David (Paula Crawford Anderson) Anderson of Elko, Brian Anderson of Scottsdale, AZ, Rachel (Mat) Budzynski of Greeley, CO, Rebecca (Craig) Martin of The Woodlands, TX, Joel Anderson (Anya Feichtl) of Billings, MT, Greg (Carl Berdahl) Anderson of Los Angeles, CA, Jeff (Libby Smith) Anderson of Minneapolis; Great-grandchildren Jacob Budzynski, Samuel Budzynski of Greeley, CO, Anna Martin, Sarah Martin, Henry Martin of The Woodlands, TX, Piper Anderson, John Anderson of Elko; Sister-in-law Marian Kile of Waupaca, WI and several nieces and nephews.
Eldora is preceded in death by her husband Dudley Anderson, her parents, Anna and Swan Truedson Rosenberg, sister Helen Bjur, and brother Lyman Carlson.
Eldora was born January 28, 1923 in Superior, Douglas County, Wisconsin to Swan and Anna Rosenberg. Eldora was baptized in Grace English Lutheran Church, Newtworth, WI, June 6, 1930. She is a member of St Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Mahtomedi.
She graduated from Rush City High School in 1940. Eldora worked for Mesaba Mineral Association, owners of the big iron ore pit in Hibbing, MN.
Eldora and Dudley were married at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rush City on October 17, 1942.
Eldora was a Red Cross nurse’s aide at Rush City Hospital during World War II and a volunteer working with the Red Cross Blood Bank for over 20 years. Eldora was an avid gardener, friend of the Rush City Library, world traveler, and was always learning something new. She loved scrabble, letter writing, reading, bird watching and was always ready for a visit from a grandchild.
Eldora was the Rush City High School principal’s secretary for 21 years where she made friends with so many students at Rush City Schools. She retired in 1981.
She moved to St. Andrews Village – Mahtomedi in 2001 to be closer to family and enjoy her grandchildren and made many new friends.
A celebration of the life of Eldora is planned for Sunday (6/7/15) 3:00 P.M. at the St. Andrew’s Village in Mahtomedi with a gathering of friends one hour prior. (240 East Ave. Mahtomedi, MN 55115)
The interment will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Rush City at 6:30 p.m. Sunday (6/7/15)
