John Newsom Sr. of Pine City, died Thursday (7/23/15) at his rural Pine City home at the age of 72.John is survived his wife Nelda, children: Sharon Newsom (Chris Yaritz) of Forest Lake, Shirley Somora (Frank Olson) of Pine City, John (Lauren) Newsom Jr. of Pine City, grandchildren: Cody and Autumn Somora, Aiden, Emma, Noah, Conner, and David Newsom; brother Bill Newsom of Cambridge, sisters: Jean (Don) Dollinger of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Karen Newsom of Superior, Wisconsin, many other relatives and friends.John is preceded in death by his parents Floren & Lorraine (Boque) Newsom, sister Sharon Newsom, and brother Richard Newsom.Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday (7/31/15) at Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City. A time of visitation and reviewal is planned from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday (7/30/2015) and one hour prior to the service all at the chapel.
