John Magnus Montain passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Abbott Northwestern in Minneapolis at the age of 62. John was born December 20, 1952 to George & Delphie Montain in Forest Lake, Minnesota.
John lived most of his life in Pine City. He was very outgoing and got to know practically everyone in town through his work at Wal- Mart and several grocery stores in Pine City over the years. He was always quick with a hello to strangers and a humorous comment to friends and co-workers. His close friends were few but he held their friendships dearly. He was loved by and cared for his cousins Joyce, Janice and Barbara and other cousins. He always had a story to tell, usually about his favorite uncle.
An avid collector, there was always a new cap or new watch or new knife or new pin that caught his eye and he just had to have it. The consummate bachelor, John was well known to every restaurant server in the five county region since he wouldn’t cook for himself.”
John is survived by his sister Carol (Roger) Kortekaas, of Matthews, North Carolina, nephews: Barry (Tarra) Kortekaas of Florida, Adam (Bethany) Kortekaas, Craig (Laddy) ) Kortekaas, Kevin (Heather) Kortekaas all of North Carolina, several cousins and many friends.
John is preceded in death by his parents George & Delphie (Carlson) Montain.
