Paul Arvid Lofgren peacefully passed away surrounded by his family, Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the same family farm on which he was born January, 1, 1926; just a month shy of ninety years.
On June 20, 1948, Arvid married his beloved wife of 65 years, Joyce (Daw) Lofgren. Together they had two children, Kathleen Joyce and Merle Paul.
Arvid spent his entire life farming everything from livestock to crops. He taught his son and grandsons all he knew in hopes of passing the family farm down to them one day. His dreams have become “Lofgren Farms.”
Arvid enjoyed traveling and liked corresponding with family as well as old and new friends in all types of situations. He loved farming and in later years the fields became a garden and tobacco became his crop; making his own chew. He loved to tell jokes regardless how appropriate, giving rides to the ladies who visited the farm and getting hugs and/or kisses from most anyone.
His retirement hobby was videotaping almost every event. He liked doing it then making duplicate copies for anyone who wanted one. He could never leave blank tape at the end so he would find various music events to fill it up and then decorate the case with an array of stickers.
Arvid is survived by his daughter Kathleen (Wayne) Nelson of Braham, his son Merle “Pete” Lofgren and friend Jakki of Harris; grandchildren Chad (Holly) Nelson of Braham, Jennifer (Tom) Wolvers of North Branch, Jerry (Jessica) Lofgren of Stark, Joe (Stef) Lofgren of Rock Creek; great-grandchildren Trevor Wolvers, Tyler Wolvers, Nicholas Nelson, Lydia Nelson, Liam Lofgren, James Weigel, Elizabeth Weigel, Caleb Hatch; sister Jane (Vernon) Ryti of Crystal; many other friends and relatives.
Arvid is preceded in death by his parents Paul Victor and Anna (Marty) Lofgren, his wife Joyce (Daw) Lofgren, and his daughter-in-law Mary Jo (LaMotte) Lofgren.
