Julie Marie Peterson

Julie Peterson of Rush City; (Rush Lake) passed away at Fairview Lakes Hospital in Wyoming on Sunday, January 10, 2016 at the age of 48. Julie Marie Peterson was born to Ronald and Carol Peterson on April, 21, 1967 in Garden Grove, California. During her high school years she played softball and basketball. In 1985, she graduated from high school in Maple, Wisconsin and in 2012 she graduated from University of Wisconsin-Superior. Julie served in the United States Navy from 1987-1988. Julie was a very compassionate soul and followed her heart helping anyone she could at any time. One of her greatest accomplishments was having her book “In The Dark” published and the book was currently in the process of being republished. She was already working on a second book. Julie loved people, she also loved her pets; Sunny, Cher and Joy. She enjoyed the outdoors, kayaking and boating with friends. She also loved nature and enjoyed just watching the sunrise and the sunsets. She enjoyed photography and took many pictures of both the sun rising and setting at her home. She continued her love of sports after high school playing softball with friends. She is survived by her spouse Karen Spielman of Rush City; parents Ronald and Carol Peterson of Solon Springs, WI.; brothers Michael Peterson of South Range, WI., Jeff (Mary) Peterson of Hermantown; sister Connie (Randy) VanDriessche of Superior, WI.; several nieces and nephews; aunt Myrna (Cheryl) Peterson of Brooklyn, WI.; mother-in-law Elenore Spielman of Twin Valley; sisters-in-law Kathy Spielman of Moorhead, Pam Banks (Larry Holbert) of Horseshoe Falls, NC. She is preceded in death by her grandparents and Aunt JoAnn Bentley, Aunt Mary and sister-in-law Lorraine. Funeral services for Julie Peterson are planned for 4:00 PM Wednesday, January 20, 2016 with a time of visitation and reviewal two hours prior to the service all at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City.
